The STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation is a multi-disciplinary medical simulation center serving Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. With over six thousand square feet of space, it encompasses a wide array of adult and pediatric simulation technologies including: full-scale human patient simulation, part-task trainers, virtual reality simulators, and microsimulation. There are three high-fidelity simulation suites including a full-sized operating room, part-task laboratories, a microsimulation laboratory, an endoscopic/laparoscopic simulation arcade, and an array of conference and debriefing rooms.

STRATUS provides simulated experiences and instruction for a broad range of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals and trainees. Both human factors/team training and “content”/skills education are provided. STRATUS also provides opportunities for simulated learning for groups from outside of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In addition to medical education and assessment, STRATUS’ mission also includes educational and clinical research, technology utilization, and consultation for simulation center development.
